Alilaguna Waterbus Shuttle

Henry James wrote that Venice had to be approached by sea. It is in fact true that the best way to appreciate Venice is from its water perspective. If you are not in a rush it's certainly the best way to approach Venice since its route across the peaceful lagoon surroundings Venice is very scenic and might be considered a sort of sightseeing tour.

The Alilaguna water shuttle is a water bus service that links the airport to the historical centre of Venice and constitutes an excellent alternative to the private water-taxi. It takes about 70 minutes to reach Saint Mark's Square. The single ticket price is 13,00 Euros (you can carry two bags per person: one hand bag and one big bag). Two lines (Blue Line and Read Line) run during the day 50 services, so you don't have to wait for long time to embark. Get a ticket is very easy. There's one Alilaguna ticket counter next to the arrivals hall exit or another one by the Alilaguna dock (darsena). It's also possible to buy tickets on board. Where is the Alilaguna leaving from?

As you walk out of the airport follow the signs to the left heading for the Alilaguna dock.
