Manger, Mimi and Oddur’s workshop dedicated to food culture and to the discovery of Venetian and Italian cuisine, just ended. As for the first edition in 2019, Casa Flora became the space hosting the lunches and dinners that accompanied these intense days of conviviality, in between the autumnal atmosphere of Venice and the intimacy of a special place, born with the intention of reuniting people and cultures.
The amazing recipes by Mimi, the wine tastings with Oddur. The grocery shopping at the Rialto market and in our favourite cuisines. The occasion to find, once again, our favourite restaurants: the lunches at Corte Sconta and Locanda Cipriani and the dinners at Covino. These were only some of the things we experienced together.
The Venetian friends we involved in this were many, and this is what created a perfect match between local activities and informed guests. What we really want is to create connections: it has been and still is one of our most important aims since we started the Inside Venice Project.
We went to the Majer laboratories to see how a panettone, the typical Christmas dessert, is made, and along with that, many creams and chocolates. The laguna was also a protagonist: the agricultural project of the restaurant owners’ Osti in Orto welcomed us to the island of Sant’Erasmo, offering their local seasonal goods for us to use in our kitchen. Then, we paid a visit at the Venissa property on the island of Mazzorbo, where we experienced their exquisite wine tasting and the warm hospitality of their inn.
We cannot wait to experience this amazing occurrence all over again. Stay tuned!
